I am just getting started, and alot of photographers are giving the CD's with their entire session fee, however, I have my sights set higher, and don't know if that is the best route. It seems my friends that get the CD's never print the pictures anyway. What do you think?

How do you find the high priced clients that are talked about in articles about how you should be charging a lot of money for photography. I'm not saying I should work for free, but with so many photographers out there where do you start if you want the higher priced clientele? I would love to be able to charge the prices for example of Sarahgoodman photography or amy fraughton photography but I can't afford those prices. How do I network with people who can afford to pay those prices?

One of the most difficult things, I have found in getting my business started, was/is setting prices. In this day and age, a lot of clients want the digital files. I was once told that if you offer your digital files, the client will never order prints from you. Up to this point, I have found this to be true. Once they have the digital file, they have it...you, as the photographer are no longer needed.

How does one go about pricing digital files? Do you include the digital file into a print package? Anyone have insight into this?
